There have been a lot of media reports trying to analyze the reason behind the absence of Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha from the promotional events of their film 'Joker'; Farah Khan clears the air!
While Farah Khan can be seen promoting husband Shirish Kunder's directorial venture Joker, lead actor of the movie Akshay Kumar is missing from all the action.
His no-show has thrown up a lot of questions, but Farah clears the air.
"It's a strategy, please don't go by what you are reading in the papers, it's somebody trying to do mischief. It's a strategy we have adopted," the 47-year-old said here in an interview.
Farah adds that the recent release of Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Rowdy Rathore is the primary reason behind Akshay's no-show.
"We have just seen a lot of them doing 'Rowdy Rathore' promotion, we didn't want our film to look the same. It's a very different film, it's a kids-friendly film. Our USP are the aliens and we want to play upon that," Farah said.
Meanwhile, Farah is happy to have produced a film like Joker and said: "It's for kids. After a very long time you'll see a film where parents can take their kids and they don't have to worry that something will come now, a kiss or sex or violence. It's very clean and entertaining film," Farah said.
Joker also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade and Minissha Lamba and hits theatres Aug 31.

First the trailer of Ek Tha Tiger was banned in Pakistan. Now, the film starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif has reportedly been banned too.
Ek Tha Tiger was slated to release in Pakistan on Eid weekend and was expected to do a good business. But now a prominent Pakistani distributor has confirmed that the film won’t release there because it hasn’t been granted clearance by the Pakistani Censor Board.
There has been no official word from the board itself, but going by the brief given by the Pak media watchdog at the time of the banning of the trailer, the authorities there are wary of their powerful spy agency ISI being shown in bad light in the film.
Those who have watched Ek Tha Tiger know that there is no such attempt by director Kabir Khan. Yes, the movie does show a sequence at the fag end where Salman Khan frees Katrina Kaif from the captivity of the ISI spooks and in the process also beat them up. But saving that, there is actually a message of friendship between India and Pakistan that’s being promoted through this film.
Director Kabir Khan is quoted to have said: “It is sad that a film promoting peace and friendship has fallen victim to politics.”
Ek Tha Tiger was supposed to release with 35 prints in Pakistan.
In India, the film has got off to a roaring start at box office and broke all the previous opening records with a first day collection of Rs. 32.95 crore.
